The FH Sonic is Faure Herman's newest flowmeter, launched in 2025 for custody transfer of liquids. It is a complete inline metering spool. Ultrasonic transducers measure the flow across five chords, arranged asymmetrically to correct for a distorted flow profile, and up to ten chords are available. With no moving parts or obstruction in the bore, the pressure drop is negligible, which lowers pumping energy and running costs over the meter's life.
The transducers can be removed while the line is in service, so maintenance doesn't require draining the pipe. Built-in diagnostics report measurement quality, such as gas at the top or solids at the bottom of the pipe and changes in the speed of sound.
